Care Guide:

Light:

These turtle explorers crave bright, indirect light - and are always on the hunt for adventure .Direct sunlight can scorch their delicate leaves. But don't push them to the dark corners of your place either - they won't be happy there. Find a happy medium - a spot with good natural light but no harsh sun.

Watering:

Interesting when it comes to their watering schedule - they don't like things too wet or too dry. I find it best to tick my finger in the soil . If the top inch feels dry, it's watering time guys ! Drying them out slightly between waterings is perfectly fine. Think of it as a mini-vacation for their roots.

Soil:

Well-draining soil is crucial as they don't really like being somewhere too wet or soggy. However if you pick any good indoor potting mix from the store - she'll be right.

Fertilizer:

Feeding your String of Turtles isn't mandatory, trust me mine is doing all good since I got her and it's almost a year. However feeding them during the growing season does not hurt at all. For your shiny turtles always choose calcium based fertiliser. If you know me - I am a big fan of organic fertilizer. So here is my tip - add lime to your soil (or chrushed egg shells) which will raise the pH level as well and make it more acidic.

Bonus Tip: Propagation Party!

String of Turtles are like the social butterflies of the plant world - they love to multiply! Just snip off a healthy stem with a few leaves, stick it in some fresh, well-draining soil, and keep it moist. Before you know it, you'll have a whole string of turtley awesome plant babies! What you need next is lots of patience because they grow slow but always steady ;) Here is my propagation video if you are interested.
